More "free" freezer bags
Do you ever eat potato chips that come in air tight bags? (Almost all do.) Reuse them as freezer bags. Smooth as much air out of them as you can, then fold each corner inwards, then fold the triangle point down a couple of times. They keep food as fresh as plastic freezer bags.

Christmas... I do some rewards programs for gift certificates and save those, either to buy with or give for gifts. I buy ahead, also, especially "vintage" gifts like collector's items, and I make gifts - mostly knitted.
Interesting... I looked at your blog entry after I'd posted here... looks like we have the same ideas! :)
