Summer, 2010Independence Day, gardens, staying cool... it's summer!It's hard to believe how late in the year it is already. Hot weather is upon us overnight, it seems. Gardens are growing, kids are out of school, and it's time for sandals and swimsuits and cold drinks and ice cream... Of course, if you're frugal, you may be looking for ideas on how to save some money on those summer expenses. Making your own ice cream (or better, having the kids make it) is one good way to save money and have fun, too. If you don't have an ice cream maker, don't worry... gather up a couple of metal cans (coffee cans are the right size), some ice and salt and a good recipe and you can do it anyway.
